State received Rs 556.50 crore for central projects

Manipur received Rs 556.50 crore from the central government for different projects sanctioned under DoNER Ministry and other central agencies in 2019-20 and 2020-21 .
In a written reply in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, DoNER minister G Kishan Reddy said that the funds include Rs 64.7 crore under Non Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR); Rs 101.5 crore under North Eastern Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS); Rs 38.4 crore under Hill Area Development Programme (HADP); Rs 10.4 crore under Special Infrastructure Development Fund (SIDF); Rs 129.9 crore under North East Road Sector Development Scheme- Externally Aided Projects [earlier called - North Eastern States Roads Investment Programme (NESRIP)]; Rs 72.8 crore under Schemes of North Eastern Council (NEC); Rs 112.1 crore under North East Road Sector Development Scheme (NERSDS); and Rs 26.7 crore under Assistance for Natural Calamity which sum up to Rs 556.50 crore.
The sanction amount for these projects is Rs 449.22 crore.
The Centre has yet to release Rs 9.6 crore under NESIDS; Rs 51.6 crore under HADP; Rs 1.3 crore under NEC; and Rs 35.2 crore under NERSDS.
The minister further informed that no loans are provided by DoNER ministry or its organisations directly to any North Eastern states.
However, loans are provided by North Eastern Development Finance Corporation (NEDFi) to the entities/individuals in North Eastern Region (NER).
NEDFi disbursed Rs 64.96 crore in 2019-20 and Rs 41.44 crorem 2020-21 as loan to the state.
The loan amount includes soft loan to NEDFi of Rs 30 crores each year in both the years from DoNER ministry.
The Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) Scheme has been discontinued since December 15,2017 and has been replaced with the new scheme called North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS).
However, NLCPR scheme is continuing for the limited purpose of meeting the committed liabilities of projects sanctioned till 2017, the minister added in his reply.
