Imphal, February 02 2014:
The All Manipur Anti-Drug Association (AMADA) has expressed serious concern over the manner the enquiry report on appointment of seven NGOs for implementation of Link Worker Scheme (LWS) in seven districts of the State has been allegedly held up by Principal Secretary Health & Family and Project Director of Manipur AIDS Control Society (MACS) despite receiving instructions from National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) to furnish the report.
In a statement, Ph Phoni Meitei, secretary general of AMADA, pointed out that the implementation of LWS was upgraded to seven districts in 2011 from two districts in 2008 with the fake appointment of seven NGOs in cahoots with one contractual staff of MACS and Society for Promotion of Youth and Masses (SPYM), New Delhi, which is the State Lead Agency for the implementation of works.
All these fake appointments are against the guidelines laid down by NACO.
