Imphal, November 30 2020: Although Manipur University Administrator Jarnail Singh has been given permission to retire from his position, the Ministry of Human Resources Development has not yet named any Vice Chancellor in-charge of Manipur University.

Notably, Jarnail Singh was appointed as the Administrator of Manipur University by an order of the High Court of Manipur in October, 2018 and he was given permission to quit by the same Court on November 30 .

Today being a holiday for the Central Government, there was no communication from the Centre regarding assignment of the charge of Vice Chancellor to anybody.
