Imphal, November 30 2019:
Oriental College, Takyel, under the aegis of Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, organised a one day workshop under the theme 'Orientation of Digitalized teaching on higher educational institutions', at the conference hall of the college at 10.30 am today.
Sysnet Global Technology (CBIC) Resident Engineer Debenkumar Naorem, Oriental College IQAC co-ordinator L Mani Singh and the college principal Dr S Ranjit Singh attended the event as the chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.
Speaking at the event, Debenkumar said that nowadays's students rarely take out their text books and read and even if they are coaxed to study, most seem to show lack of interest.
However, if smartphones are used and lessons are taught through this method, the students seem to be eager to participate and absorb the knowledge, he said, adding that in today's time, educational institutes should properly utilise smart board or interactive white board for teaching the students.
It will also be beneficial to teach the students using 2D and 3D models apart from books, he said.
