Imphal, June 30 2022: Imphal East District Police arrested a man with a huge consignment of drugs at around lam on Thursday.

The arrested man has been identified as Md Boi (28) s/o Md Amu of Naharup Pangong Makhong.

Around 4440 bottles of banned cough syrup and 2,60,064 Span-Prx + capsules were seized from his possession.

Parading Md Boi and the seized drugs before the media his office on Thursday, Imphal East SP M Pradip informed that on receiving information of a huge consignment of drugs hidden in Naharup Pangong area on Wednesday evening, two teams of CDO led by OC along with two other teams of Reserve line RI and RL 2, and a special I/E team raided Md Boi's residence at Naharup Pangong.

The raid was carried out with full authorisation, and in the presence of magistrate with witnesses adhered to.

During the raid, 4440 bottles of 100 ml Anrex CP cough syrup packed in 37 boxes, 3700 bottles of 100 ml Rukscof cough syrup packed in 37 boxes and 2,60,064 capsules of Span-Prx + Capsules (10836 strips) packed in 12 boxes were recovered along with one mobile phone.

Both Boi and the seized drugs have been over to Irilbung PS for further course of legal action.
