Imphal, June 30 2021:
Anal Lenruwl Tang-pi (ALT), Chakpikarong Branch has drawn the attention of the authorities concerned over the problems being faced the denizens of Chakpikarong due to alleged negligence and indifferent attitude by the government agencies in executing their works in the region.
In a release, ALT Chakpikarong president PY Mowarhring stated that the road linking with the Chakpikarong sub-division, which is the only lifeline, is in deplorable condition with many potholes dotting the route.
Inspite of the repair work done by 82 RCC HQ (25 BRTF) from Chakpikarong to Sugnu, it lasted for only a few months and condition worsened further due onset of monsoons.
Expressing strong resentment that many people suffered injuries due to accidents along the poorly maintained road, the ALT said the same road was black topped just few months back by the BRTF.
Therefore, it is apparent that sub-standard materials were used and prescribed project specifications not followed in the construction, it claimed.
The president continued that the Chakpikarong Government Higher Secondary School is one of the oldest schools in the region imparting education to thousands of students since 1961 notwithstanding the lack basic facilities like infrastructure, classrooms, toilet blocks and teachers, etc.
However, it is sad to say that the recent government order (June 17) for implementation of 2nd phase of 'School Fagathansi Mission' for 60 schools under Education (S) Department did not include the said school which in fact is in dire need.
ALT Chakpikarong further appealed to the authority concerned to look into these grievances urgently in the larger interest of the people of Chakpikarong sub-division in general and the student fraternity of the region in particular.
