Imphal, February 28 2018: All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU), Imphal West District Committee observed the 22nd Netaji Ningshing Numit 2018 at the multipurpose hall of Johnstone Higher Secondary School today.

Mutum Jadumani, principal of Johnstone Higher Secondary School; vice-principal A Sangeeta Devi; AMSU president Manjit Sarangthem and EEVFAM general secretary Edina Yaikhom graced the observance as presidium members.

Giving key note address at the occasion, AMSU general secretary Thokchom Basanta said that the students' union along with Johnstone Higher Secondary School has been observing Netaji Ningshing Numit in remembrance of Thokchom Netaji who was killed in cross firing in 1999. He said that a library in honour of Thokchom Netaji who was a student of the school was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of that time.

He urged the new Government to revive the library which has been lying defunct for the last many years.
