WY tablets seized

Imphal, July 30 2022:
A team of NAB personnel arrested a 26 year old youth along with 70 thousand WY tablets from Canchipur near Manipur University gate today.
The seized drugs is worth about Rs 35 lakh in the international market.
The arrested individual has been identified as Henjakhup Kipgen, s/o Janglal Kipgen of T Gamnom Village, Saikul Sub-Division, Kangpokpi.
According to reliable information, the NAB personnel under the supervision of NAB SP K Meghachandra carried out a random and frisking drive along Imphal-Moreh near Manipur University gate on receiving inputs about the transportation of banned drug items along the road stretch.
During the drive, one SUV was detained and on checking it 70 thousand WY tablets weighing 7.891 kilogram were seized.
As perthe arrested person, the WY tablets were procured from Moreh and it is to be delivered at Imphal for trafficking to other States.
A case has been registered at NAB Manipur Police Station under ND&PS Act.
On the other hand 10 Kg of Opium with its 'origin' traced to Manipur was seized by Nagaland police from a Guwahati-bound vehicle, reports North East Today.
One person has been arrested in this connection.
According to a press release issued by the Superintendent of Police (Crime) & PRO of Nagaland Police Headquarters, the Nagaland police personnel of Narcotic Cell Police Station Mobile unit intercepted a Guwahati-bound vehicle on NH 2, adjacent to a bridge between Khuzama and Viswema Village, which was arriving from Manipur's Imphal.
During thorough search, nearly 10 packets of suspected opium, weighing approximately 10 kgs was concealed inside the spare tyre of the vehicle.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle - a resident of Ranthali under Assam's Nagaon District was apprehended.
A case has been lodged in Narcotic Cell Police Station under the Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
