CM updates development projects in Tamenglong

Imphal, October 29 2024: Chief minister N Biren took to social media platform X on Tuesday to share updates on key development projects in the state, particularly Tamenglong district.

His series of posts detailed the ongoing efforts to bolster healthcare, infrastructure, and community resources under various state and national initiatives.

Biren provided an extensive update on infrastructure projects in Tamenglong highlighting that the district, once one of the most underdeveloped areas, is now witnessing substantial progress in infrastructure and services.

Notable completed projects include District Court building, FCI warehouse, 50-bedded ward at the Tamenglong District Hospital, comprehensive water supply scheme under the Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR), and natural football ground to support local sports development.

Additionally, the National Highway (NH) 137 Khongsang-Tamenglong section has been completed, improving connectivity within the district, he wrote.

The CM also shared that several key projects in Tamenglong are in various stages of progress.

The Tamenglong-Mahur and Imphal-Kangchup-Tamenglong roads are currently under construction, aiming to further enhance connectivity to other regions.

The CM also shared updates on the ongoing construction of the Science Block at Tamenglong College, which is expected to provide students with advanced learning facilities, as well as the development of a convention hall intended to serve as a cultural and community centre.

CM Biren's posts also emphasised the government's dedication to enhancing food security and sports infrastructure in the district.

The completion of a cold storage facility and an FCI warehouse is expected to secure food supplies, minimise waste, and ensure better storage and management of essential goods.

Furthermore, a synthetic football turf suitable to conduct 7-a-side competition will soon be inaugurated to complement the completed natural football ground, creating a robust sports infrastructure for young athletes and nurturing local talent in Tamenglong, he stated.
