Imphal, January 29 2015 : A 15 day long Anti-Leprosy Fortnight is going to be observed as a part of Anti-Leprosy Day in all the district of Manipur from January 30 to Febbruary 13 .

According to a communiqu� from State Leprosy Officer, the rationale behind the programme is 'to ensure that there is no new case of child with disability due to leprosy'.

During the fortnight long observance, efforts will be made to intensified IEC campaign along with group meeting, active house to house search in the indentified Blocks/PHCs/localities and starting of treatment with MDT after validating the case.

At the district level the programme will be conducted by the respective District Leprosy Units.
