House passes 3 Bills including Appropriation Bill

Imphal, July 28 2014 : On the last day of the Budget session, Manipur Legislative Assembly today passed three bills including Manipur Appropriation (Number 3 ) Bill.

Bills which were passed are Manipur Appropriation (No.3) bill 2014, Salary and Allowances of Members of Legislative Assembly (Manipur) 20th Amendment bill 2014 (bill no.12 of 2014), and Salary and Allowances of Minister (Manipur) 12th Amendment bill 2014 (bill no.13 of 2014 .

During the discussion on Appropriation bill, MLA Dr..IIbohalbi pointed out that Manipur is a state with high rate of cancer patients, and a number of patients from the state go for treatment at Tata Hospital in Mumbai.

Saying that patients from Manipur are spending huge expenses to avail of accommodation in Mumbai, Dr.Ibohalbi suggested the government to construct a House for the visiting Manipuris in Mumbai.

Replying to the observations, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi informed the House that a house for accommodation of Manipuri visitors in Mumbai is under consideration and possibility of hiring a building on lease is being planned.
