Id-ul-Zuha greetings

Imphal, October 26 2012:
Governor Gurbachan Jagat has greeted the people of Manipur on occasion of the Id-ul-Zuha.
In his message, the Governor said that Id-ul-Zuha is a 'festival of sacrifice' which epitomized the spirit of sacrifice overcoming one's ego and narrow self interest for the larger good.
He said the festival is inclusive, inculcates charity which is the basic framework for peace, amity, brotherhood and harmony amongst the various communities.
He also appealed the people to remember and take inspiration from the selfless sacrifice of Hazarat Ibrahim and resolve to work together for bringing unity, goodwill, peace and brotherhood in Manipur.
On the other hand, Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Md.Abdul Nasir provided monetary assistance to around 500 people of Lilong area who are living under poverty line on occasion of the Id-ul-zuha.
The assistances were distributed in a function held at his official quarter today afternoon.
Minister Nasir also extended his greetings to the people and prayed for bring peace and prosperity in the state.
Maj Gen UK Gurung,YSM, IGAR (South) and all Ranks of Assam Rifles have also extended warm greetings and sincere good will to the 'People of Manipur' on the occasion.
Bharatiya Janata Party, Manipur Pradesh; BJP, Minority Morcha, Manipur Pradesh and HERICOUN have also wished the people on occasion.
