One arrested, 3 two-wheelers recovered

Imphal, November 25 2021:
A team of Kakching district police commando nabbed a member.of vehicle lifting gang and recovered three stolen two-wheelers from a hideout.
The arrested person has been identified as Md Ash-ique alias Ashis (20) son of Md Munir Khan of Irorig Chesaba Mayai Leikai.
According to a police source, a team of the commando unit conducted frisking and checking at hong Bazar from 4 pm Thursday after getting specific report about presence of some members of a vehicle lifting gang in the area.
During the frisking, the commando team led by inspector Md Abash Khan observed a person moving suspiciously in the area.
Though the suspect tried to escape from the frisking point he was overpowered after brief chase.
During spot interrogation, the person identified himself as Md Ashique alias Ashis and confessed to be member of a vehicle lifting gang.
From the disclosure of Md Ashique, the commando team recovered three stolen two-wheelers hidden in Md Ashique's house.
The recovered two wheelers include one Royal Enfield (Desert Storm) bearing registration number KA01EV-8299, chassis no ME3U5S5F0BM19008 Engine no U5SF0BM019008, one numberless Honda Activa 6G (white) bearing chassis no ME4JF9134JLW146596 and Engine no JF91E-W-0146152 and numberless Honda Dio 3G (Candy Jazzy blue) with chassis no ME-4JF394EF7025896 and Engine no JF9E-7039113.The police source further said all the three recovered vehicles were reportedly left at his Ashique's house by one Md Boicha (20) son of late Md Manap of Irong Salam Leikai and Ashique received Rs 5;000 for safekeeping the stolen two-wheelers.
Ashique and all the recovered two-wheelers have been handed over to Imphal police station for further necessary action.
