Imphal, November 25 2017:
As a result of the prolonged alien rule, a large number of lost self-confidence and have accustomed themselves to a dependency culture.
Moreover, many people have accustomed to a culture of handing over the entire responsibility of determining the Nation's future to India.
The mobilisation campaign among Meiteis for a mass movement which began some years back with the objective of ensuring protection of indigenous people through certain Articles of the Indian Constitution is something very awkward, the CC remarked.
It further remarked that the same campaign smacks of a dependency mindset.
Development and progress can be achieved only when people are freed from dependency mindset and empowered to shoulder the responsibility of self rule.
This idea and character form the very essence of freedom, it asserted.
Even though India claims to be a democracy, all the tenets of democracy are trampled and there is de facto military rule in WESEA and Jammu and Kashmir.
By imposing AFSPA 1958, the Government of India has been violating the rights of people in these regions.
The Government of India does not respect the democratic rights of the people of Manipur and New Delhi is still unable to accept the UNLF's proposal for plebescite, the CC said.
Given this situation, it is the bounden duty of all the indigenous people of Manipur to fight the Government of India and its military forces in order to protect the Nation.
As for UNLF/MPA, it is always prepared to fight to the end for liberation of Manipur, it said.
The Central Committee also conveyed best wishes to all the party cadres, local members, all the people who took part in the 53rd raising day celebration at different places as well as all the Manipuri people who have settled in different parts of the world.
It further conveyed warm greetings to all revolutionaries who are languishing in jails and all the people who have been maimed by security forces.
The CC also greeted all the member parties of Cor Com and other friendly revolutionary groups of WESEA who have been waging liberation struggles.
It further paid tributes to all the founders of UNLF, party cadres, all those people who have laid down their lives in the course of the liberation movement and those people whose lives were cut short by the atrocities of security forces.
