Bandh begins along Old Cachar Road

Imphal, July 25 2022: In protest against the protracted delay in repairing the Old Cachar Road (Tongjei Maril) road, Rongmei Naga Youth Organisation (RNYO), Manipur and National Highway Surveillance Committee (NHSC) have imposed a 48-hour bandh along the said route from 6pm Monday.

A joint release by RNYO and NHSC said that repeated requests were made to the government including the minister concerned to repair the deplorable Old Cachar Road but no action has been taken up till date.

As such, the bandh has been enforced to denounce the indifferent attitude of the government.

The bandh will cover the road from Bishnupur till Rengpang village area, the release informed, while adding that further intense agitations will be launched if the government continues to ignore the matter.
