Imphal, June 25 2013: The second edition of All India RBI Inter School Quiz Programme was held at JN Manipur Dance Academy under the aegis of RBI Guwahati here today.

While inaugurating the quiz programme in the presence of a large number of participants mainly teachers, parents and students of various schools, PK Jena, Regional Director of RBI Guwahati, explained that the purpose of conducting the quiz programme is to create an awareness and interest among the students about the history and the role of Reserve bank, banking and finance, other banking institutions, economics, current affairs, personalities and events that have contributed to the growth and progress of India over the years.

He said that the objective is to build a connection between the Reserve Bank and the young student community across the country and to disseminate financial literacy extensively and to recognize and encourage bright young students on a national platform.

The quiz which was conducted by renowned Quiz master Gautam Bose, was participated by altogether 37 teams comprising each of two students from various schools.

The quiz programme was conducted in two phases, the Pre Quarter Final and the Quarter Final round.

In the final round, the team from Sishu Nistha Niketan School scored the highest mark and was selected to represent Manipur in Zonal Final to be held in Kolkata.

L Upendro Sharma, Director of JN Manipur Dance Academy, was also present on the occasion as presidium member.
