CM hands over assistance under special scheme

Chief Minister N Bi-ren has distributed onetime financial assistance of Rs 5000 each to beneficiaries under Special Scheme for Education of Children of Labour Card Holders staying in relief camps.
The distribution programme held at the CM's secretariat on Sunday was organised by Manipur Building and Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board.
One-time financial assistance of Rs 5000 was handed over to the beneficiaries by the Chief Minister.
After distributing the financial assistance, Biren interacted with the beneficiaries who are currently staying in relief camps and listened to the grievances.
He also said that the government is taking up all necessary measures for the welfare of the people affected by the recent violence occurred in the state.
Water resources minister Awangbow Newmai, Manipur Building and Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board chairman K Saratkumar and other officials also attended the programme.
The special scheme provides one-time financial assistance of Rs 5000 for education of children to every family having valid labour card and staying in the relief camps due to the on-going ethnic conflict in the state.
