Demise of eminent personalities condoled

Many organisations have condoled the untimely demise of prominent Manipuri citizens, who passed away due to Covid-19 or other health conditions in the past few days.
Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS), Film Forum Manipur and Patriotic Writers Forum (PWF) Manipur, Assam and Tripura expressed deep condolences on the passing away of eminent film producer and writer, and former Health Services director Dr Thiyam Suresh Singh, who passed away on Sunday.
In a release, MSFDS secretary Sunzu Bachaspatimayum informed that a virtual condolence meeting was held by members of its Executive Board as well as the Celebration Committee of the Golden Jubilee of Manipuri Cinema.
The attendees also expressed sorrow at the passing away of yet another film personality due to Covid-19 and later lit candle in honour of the deceased film producer.
Meanwhile, RIMS director, medical superintendent, dean (Academic), faculty members, officials and staff deeply condoled the demise of RIMS Department of Pathology former professor Dr M Samarendra Singh while All Manipur Ethnical Socio-cultural Organisation (AMESCO) condoled the death of Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur publicity secretary RK Sanahanbi on May 20 and Meira Paibi Welfare Association Kangleipak (MPWAK) general secretary Tongbram Prembala (Heiyai) on Monday.
International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) and Ching Tam Apunba Nupi Lup (China Lup) Pallel also condoled death of RK Sanahanbi and shared the grief of the bereaved family.
Ima Leisana Women Street Vendors Welfare Union, Women Association for Socio Economic Development (WASEDEV) and Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN) also conveyed deep condolences over the demise of Ema Akoijam Janaki Leima on Sunday due to Covid-19 while Manipur University faculty, officers, staff and students in a meeting held at MU Committee Room on Monday to mourn the sudden demise of Kh Nabachandra Singh, who was working as chowkidar in the varsity, on Monday as well as the passing away of Manipur Institute of Technology laboratory attendant M Subhasini Devi on May 10 .
On the other-hand, Nepali Sahitya Parishad (NSP) Manipur condoled the demise of its founding president Narayan Prasad Uprety by holding an online condolence meet under its president Bha-wani Adhikari during which a two-minute silence was observed for the peace of the departed soul.
In a release, NSP secretary Deepak Pantha informed that Tripura University VC Dr Ganga Prasad Prasain and Darjeeling MP Raju Bista and many others also condoled the death of NSP founder president.
Pioneer Education & Sporting Union (PESU) on Sunday organised a condolence meeting at its office to condole the demise of former Oinam MLA Dr Irengbam Ibohalbi Singh who died on May 20 .
Manipur Artist Touring Drama Party, Theatre Centre Manipur, Theatre Mirror Manipur, Manipuri Theatre Academy Wangoi and Khoriphaba Artist Association Nambol have condoled the demise of theatre pioneer and San-geet Natak Akademi awardee Elangbam Joychandra Singh.
Porompat Film Production House on Monday held a condolence meeting at its office at Porompat Thabanthaba Leikai after hearing about the sudden demise of Home Films Manipur advisor W Basanta on Monday.
