Briefing media persons at Viewland, Ukhrul, Wungnaoshang, president of UDTWA, extended support to the agitating teachers.
SSA and RMSA teachers have been demanding the State Government for payment of pending salaries, ensuring promotion avenues and to absorb them into the State Government and Department concerned for a long time, he said.
Saying that SSA and RMSA teachers of Ukhrul district have been staging different protests since January 13, decrying the failure of the State Government to fulfil their demands, Wungnaoshang cautioned that continuation of their agitation will greatly affect the normal functioning of every school in the district.
The new annual academic session will commence from February, he said, mentioning that at least 300 teachers have joined the indefinite cease work strike launched by Joint SSA and RMSA Teachers' Association Manipur.
