Rationalisation Policy for teachers to be framed soon: Okendro

Considering the dearth of higher education institutions to cater to the huge number of students passing out of the colleges in the state, the state government is planning to set up a state university, Education Minister M Okendro has stated.
During deliberations on demand discussions in the state legislative assembly on Tuesday, Education Minister M.Okendro iterated that the government is seriously working for improvement in education sector, despite the financial constraints hampering development activities in the sector.
Saying the government is trying hard to implement possible plans, the Education Minister exuded confidence that with the financial inputs under of 14th Finance commission, a number of the government will be able to implement development works.
Referring to the increase in enrolment of students in government schools, he maintained that the government school students are able to come out in the top 20 list in HSLC examination, which did not happen earlier.
Okendro informed the House that the rationalization policy of teachers would be framed shortly.
Participating in discussion on demands, opposition MLA Dr..IIbohalbi observed that education is an important sector, without which progress cannot be made in the society.
Expressing strong need to develop the education sector, Dr Ibohalbi pointed out that the number of government schools which cannot produce class �X passed students is also increasing.

Joykishan, Th.Biswajit and Th.Shyamkumar also shared their views during the demand discussion.
Later, the House unanimously approved the amounts for six demands including Rs.5,40,56,000/- for Information and Publicity, Rs.10,62,73,97,000/- for Education, Rs.187,06,05,000/- for Agriculture, Rs.32,70,56,000/- for Fisheries and Rs.4,92,71,000/- for State Academy of Training.
