MSPCL gets LDC Excellence Award

The State Load Despatch Centre (SLDC) under Manipur State Power Company Limited (MSPCL) has received Load Despatch Centre (LDC) Excellence Award for effective implementation of integrated power system operation.
MSPCL's SLDC was selected for the award in the emerging category and was presented during the 9th International Conference, on Power System 2021 held at IIT Kharagpur, West Bengal.
The award was instituted for the first time following the recommendation of the core committee of National Power System Conference held on November 23 last year.
The 'LDC Excellence Award' recognises the exceptional work done by the Load Despatch Centres (LDCs) in the Indian power sector.
The secretariat of Forum of Load Despatchers (FOLD), which is a forum for all the LDCs, in India, assisted in dissemination of information about the award to the LDCs, collecting nominations from the LDCs, forwarding the completed forms with compilation of data to an independent jury.
The jury is constituted by the ICPS Core Steering Committee, to decide the awardee.
The assessment methodology included rigorous quantitative grading of various Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), like stakeholder's satisfaction, adequacy and efficiency of internal processes, learning and growth besides financial prudence and future readiness and sub KPIs thereof.
The methodology also included a write up and an interaction of shortlisted applicants with the Jury.
A total of 33 submissions from various LDCs were received in 4 categories.
The categorisation of LDCs (NLDC, RLDCs, Large SLDCs, Medium SLDCs and Emerging SLDCs) is based on various factors like composite score of peak demand met, energy supplied, and renewable energy installed capacity.
