People of Manipur trust NPP: Conrad Sangma

Understanding how National People's Party (NPP) works in the interest and sentiment of the northeast region, people of Manipur are placing their trust on the party and they want to see NPP becoming the single largest party in the 2022 state assembly election, said NPP president and Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma.
Conrad Sangma, who arrived here on Monday, went to Athletic Brothers' Association (ABA) ground at Kshetri Mayai Leikai and launched the poll campaign meeting for Nurool Hassan of Kshetrigao assembly constituency.
Later, he attended a poll campaign meeting of the party's intending candidate for Yaiskul assembly constituency Huidrom Vikram held at Soudapung ground located at Wangkhei Kongba.
NPP state president N Kayisii, national vice-president and deputy chief minister Yumnam Joykumar, MLA L Jayantakumar, national general secretary Thomas Sangma, Meghalaya MLA Marquis Mark, NPP vice-president Kh Token and NPP Yaiskul Block Committee president Ph Guneshwar attended the campaign meetings.
In his address, Conrad said that NPP is different from other political parties as it is the only party grown up from the northeast and working in the interest and sentiment of the region and its people.
Due to its ideologies and stand, the party rose to become a national party and it is getting support from the people of the region as the party always brought up issues related with the northeast region in the parliament.
The northeast region is different from the mainland India in terms of sentiment, issues, culture and identity among others.
A strong platform is needed to raise the voice of the region and NPP has been functioning as the platform today, he said.
In the context of Manipur too, NPP is working on the idea of regionalism.
As a result, the party is getting support from the people of Manipur.
The party strongly believes in the people of the state that they will support NPP to become the single largest party in the 2022 state assembly election.
He also expressed confidence that both Nurool Hassan and Huidrom Vikram will win the election with good margin.
