Thoubal, October 22 2021:
Deputy Inspector (DI) of Schools Tekcham Bikomdash has drawn attention of the chief minister and the education minister to the manner in which the office of Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Zone-Ill Thoubal is operating while alleging that the office is 'functioning' at the behest of some individuals.
Addressing a press meet at Khangabok, Thoubal on Friday, Bikomdash said that he was posted as DI of schools at ZEO Zone-Ill Thoubal on July 1 and he submitted joining reports to the ZEO office on July 2 and the directorate of education on July 3.The ZEO was not present at the office when he reported for duty and as such he reported to one Ningombam Rajen instead.
It was unfortunate for one Thokchom Okenjit, who is said to be OSD to ZEO Zone-Ill Thoubal, to make false statement to media that he did not submit his joining report.
He also claimed that N Rajen, who has been transferred as science graduate teacher at Langmei Higher Secondary School, is still sitting at the ZEO office.
ZEO Zone-Ill Thoubal assistant zonal nodal officer (MDM) T Rajen, who was also present during the press meet, said that his transfer order to the office was also issued on March 24 and he joined on March 26.However, no charge has been handed over to him till date.
Some individuals in the office are doing whatever they want and they are not accepting joining report oLany new employees transferred to the office, he said while urging the chief minister and the education minister to look into the matter and take up appropriate actions.
