Protest staged against dacoity in UBI Building

Imphal, October 22 2012:
Tenants and owner of UBI, Imphal Main branch office building complex today staged a sit-in-protest in front of the building located at Thangal Bazar demanding arrest of an intruder who allegedly committed dacoity inside the building complex.
Speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao, owner of the UBI building complex Nahakpam Mangi Singh said that the building is in dispute with his two brothers and a legal suit has been pending in the court of Civil Judge (Sr.
Divn) No.1, Manipur East.
The case is awaited disposal within six months.
However, a person identified as Sarungbam Premananda (45), S/o S.Behari of Singjamei Mayeng Leikai, Imphal entered the building premises on October 18 this year along with 15 - 20 associates and destroyed the shops which were rented on lease, Mangi alleged.
The intruder ransacked some of the shops and taken down the iron shutters and collapsibles.
The matter was reported at local cable TV.
But no action was taken up by the law enforcing agencies, Mangi lamented.
