Fisheries minister launches Nga Keithel App

Fisheries minister S Rajen on Monday launched Nga Keithel App at INA Hall, Moirang.
Speaking at the event as chief guest, minister Rajen informed that the new App will help the fish farmers of the state to grow.
The central government has also launched fishery schemes which have benefited many fish farmers, he added.
S Rajen mentioned that Loktak Livelihood Mission has been introduced to help fish farmers particularly in Bishnupur district.
The expenditure to purchase fish from outside the state has been reduced.
Different schemes such as Biofloc, PPP model of government fish farms, DBT to the farmers, loan to the cooperative societies, subsidy scheme, etc., have been introduced.
Entrepreneurs have also been encouraged by presenting awards and incentives, he stated.
Speaking as the functional president, Moirang MLA P Saratchandra Singh conveyed that people of Moirang and surrounding areas have strong connection to Loktak Lake.
There is an inseparable relationship between this lake and the people of this region.
He also observed that launching of such apps will play the connectivity role amongst the fish farmers of the state.
Fisheries director H Balkrishna was guest of honour.
