Imphal, December 19 2021:
The Naga People's Front (NPF) 42-Assembly Constituency Tengnoupal has cautioned of tendering mass resignation if the party awards ticket for the upcoming assembly election to incumbent MLA D Korungthang.
While asserting that there should be no extension of the deadline for application of ticket, a release issued by Tengnoupal NPF president Ng Thomvir contended that D Korungthang on seeing the increasing strength of NPF in the area is trying his best to enrol and get the party's ticket by flouting all party rules.
Further stating that three other intending candidates namely W Morung Makunga, Kh Armstrong Charang and TK Moshilpha fulfil all the criteria laid down by the Front and have applied for the ticket within the stipulated time, the release insisted that the ticket should be allotted to anyone from among the three.
Stressing the need for the party's leader to uphold the rules and regulations, it said that party workers of the Tengnoupal NPF unit have been working hard to strengthen the party since its inception in the state in 2011.The unit president reiterated that if the deadline/period for issuance and submission of forms for party ticket is extended from its original dates of December 6 and 15 respectively, then there will be mass resignation from the political organisation.
The decision to resign en-mass was taken in a joint meeting of the parent body of the Unit and its frontal organisations on December 18,
Thomvir added.
