Imphal, September 19 2024: A team of Imphal police station has rounded one Eric Thangjam alias Thangjam Raju Singh (40) s/o (L) Th Ranjit Singh of Nagamapal Khwai Brahmapur Laimayum Leirak on the alleged charge of posting seditious message on his WhatsApp status.

According to a police report, Eric uploaded an inflammatory post as his status on his WhatsApp around 4.30pm on Wednesday.

The post read, "Lmbida slogan laoba, rally chtpa, nung thombana kanaroi.

BJP office thugaiyu.

Biren and party gi mayum thugaiyo.

Eikhoi leirak machin gi RSS office thugaiyo (It is useless to shout slogans and take out rally on the roads, and pelt stones.

Destroy BJP office.

Destroy Biren's residence and party's office.

Destroy the RSS office at the entrance of my locality)" .

In this regard, Imphal PS arrested Eric on Wednesday and registered an FIR under various sections of the recently implemented BNS.

He was produced before the court of CJM Imphal West on Thursday, which remanded him in police custody for four days.
