CRPF, ICAR plant over 200 tree saplings

Imphal, May 19 2025:
Under the aegis of CRPF Manipur & Nagaland Sector Inspector General, 86 Bn CRPF, headquartered at Lamphel, led by commandant Saurabh Kumar Choudhary conducted tree plantation drive under the National Afforestation Programme (NAP) and Green India Mission in collaboration with Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) represented by ICAR Manipur regional centre head Dr Ch Basudha Devi.
In a release, 86 Bn deputy commandant Kiyam Rajiv Singh informed that the programme aims to restore degraded land, increase green cover and support biodiversity using scientifically selected indigenous species.
In their addresses, commandant Saurabh emphasised the importance of environmental conservation and community welfare as Dr Ba-sudha highlighted the role of scientific expertise in ensuring success and sustainability of the plantation efforts.
Around 215 saplings were planted during the drive.
