2 UG cadres, gang member held

Imphal, March 19 2015: Security forces arrested two UG cadres including women and a gang member during frisking, checking and search operations in Imphal East and Thoubal districts.

According to a statement issued by PRO Police RK Tutusana, a combined team of District Police Commando, Imphal East and 40 Assam Rifles (AR) conducted frisking and checking at Kongba bazar and arrested one anti social gang member on March 17.The arrested has been identified as one Tongbram Rojen Singh alias Kebi (37), son of T Rajen Singh of Keishampat Kangabam Leikai.

One 9mm pistol loaded with one live round was seized from his possession.

Investiga-tion revealed that, Rojen came to Kongba bazar to sell the seized weapons and ammunition.

In another operation, a combined of team of District Police Commando, Imphal East and 45 Assam Rifles arrested one RPF cadre from Khurai Lamlong Bazar on March 17 .

The apprehen-dee was identified as one 'Lance Corporal' Pangam-bam Rajesh Singh alias Kwakpa (31), son of P Kesho Singh of Yairipok Top Chingtha.

Investigation revealed that he was involved in extortion of money from general public, shopkeepers, private schools and transportation of arms, ammunition and explosives for his party.

Again, a combined team of District Police Commando, Thoubal including women police and 2 Assam Rifles conducted cordon and search operation in the general area of Khongjom Bazar and arrested one KYKL cadre at Tata magic parking, Khongjom Bazar on March 18 .

The arrested has been identified as one Khaidem Ningol Takhellam-bam ongbi Sonia alias Sorojini alias Sonia Chanu 37, wife of T Sanayaima of Kwatha Mayai Leikai.
