Sewing machines distributed

Sewing machines were distributed to women trainees who had successfully completed the tailoring and embroidery training organised by Manipur State Women's Development Corporation Ltd today at Yaiskul Police Lane.
The programme was attended by S Seityabhama, chairperson, Manipur State Women's Development Corporation Ltd; S Brajamani, president, Yasikul Volunteers Organisation and Nikita Thangjam, assistant director, Social Welfare as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, S Seityabhama said the corporation was formed in 1995 to empower women and make them financially independent.
The corporation had in the past organised training programmes on computer, toy making and embroidery.
Stipends are given to all the trainees during training and on completion of training certificates and machines and other items are provided to them, she added.
