Manipur is like a garden with varied flowers: UCM

The different communities in Manipur are like different flowers growing in a garden, each complementing the other, United Committee Manipur (UCM) president Joychandra Konthoujam has stated.
He was speaking on the occasion of Gaan Ngai celebration organised at Heigrujam Kabui Khul on Tuesday.
Joychandra said that the present and future generation needs to preserve and uphold the customs and traditions of their respective communities, as these cultural traditions serve as our unique identity.
"We are all children of the same mother ie, Manipur, and as such, have been working with one another and will continue to do so in future" .
For UCM, Manipur is like a big garden and the various communities inhabiting the state are like the different flowers blooming beautifully, each complementing the other and living harmoniously.
It is appreciable of all to continue celebrating and observing the cultural traditions, which are the legacy of our forefathers, he conveyed, while praying that the Gaan Ngai celebration this year would usher in a healthy, peaceful and an equal society in the state.
Later, the UCM president gifted blankets to 10 elderly of the village, while presenting the youth a volleyball and a football.
