Imphal, July 17 2015 :
The Naga Students' Federation vehemently condemns the brutal murder of Tuzali S/o Siikhaho (14) of Phor village and Miss.
Aso D/o Yiteli (13) of Wuzu village, both Class VII students of Pholary Government High School, Phor and injuring Esther Vitsurho, a married woman in the indiscriminate firing on the July 16 at Wuzu village under Meluri sub-division, Phek district.
In a joint press statement issued by NSF President Subenthung Kithan and General Secretary Boveio Poukai Duo said that this is a direct threat to the security of the Nagas by the Indian Security Forces and this incident clearly exposed the sick activities of the Indian Security Forces acting as negative forces and execution of the draconian law where the innocent citizens are targeted without any rhyme or reasons.
The Students Federation expresses its anger and frustration against the frequent murder and atrocities by the Indian Armed Forces perpetrated upon the Nagas under the shadow of Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA) and time and again creating war-like situations inspite of the peaceful environment.
The two promising minor students were shot in the heads and the injured woman on her arm.
This is an act of ugly vengeance against the unarmed civilian, not at all a blank firing as claimed by the Indian Security Force.
The statement further said the recent decision of the centre declaring the entire Nagaland state as a "disturbed area" and extending Armed Force (Special Powers) Act 1958 for one year has once again empowered the Indian Security Forces with unlimited power to extend their evil activities and judicial impunity to arrest, torture, rape, kill and to commit everything inhuman.
Therefore, the NSF appealed to all the Nagas to condemn the inhuman and draconian act.
This is an Act that should be abolished for once and for all.
The office of the Naga Students' Federation earnestly appealed to all the concerned to attend the Seniors Consultative Meeting with the Federating Units and Subordinate Bodies to be convened on the July 18 at the office conference hall at 12 noon.
