Maibam Manojkumar, Session Judge, Imphal West, reserved the judgment order against Nganbam Premjit and his parents in connection with the death of Yumlembam (n) Latabi alias Abem (20) of Khurkhul Makha Leikai, after the final hearing of the case today.
All the three accused, Nganbam Premjit, his father Nganbam Ibobi and mother, Nganbam (O) Chanou, of Khurkhul Makha Leikai appeared before the Court for the final hearing of the trial against them.
After hearing the submission of APP of the State and the defense counsel of the accused individuals, the Session Court reserved the judgment order till April 17 .
The trial began after the IO concerned submitted the charge sheet against the three accused in early part of 2015 and the charge was framed against the three individuals in the month of October, the same year.
The hearing of the first prosecution witnesses was conducted on December and during the two and half year long trial of the case, the Court heard the submissions of 13 prosecution witnesses.
No defense witnesses were produced from the side of the accused individuals during the trial.
The final hearing of the case was held on February 17 this year, March 9 and today, before the Court reserved its judgment order till April 17 .
It may be mentioned that the accused husband and in-laws of the victim, were arrested after a written complaint was lodged by the victim's father before Sekmai PS on March 2, 2013, at around 3.30 pm, stating that at around 2.30 pm, the same day, his daughter/victim, Yumlembam Latabi alias Abem (20) w/o N Premjit of Khurkhul Makha Leikai, was allegedly strangulated by her husband and other family members at her husband's house.
