Eid Greetings

Governor Dr Ashwani Kumar, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and many others have extended their greetings to the people of Manipur, specially the Muslim brethren on the auspicious occasion of Eid-Ul-Zuha, which is to be celebrated tomorrow.
In his greeting, Governor Dr Ashwani said Eid-ul-Zuha, literally meaning festival of sacrifice, embodies the spirit of sacrifice, overcoming one's ego and narrow self-interest for the larger good.
The festival signifies amity, brother, harmony and peace amongst different communities.
On this sacred occasion, let us all resolve to engage ourselves for ushering an era of brother, goodwill, peace and unity in Manipur, the Governor exhorted.
Conveying his greeting, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh observed that Eid-ul-Zuha epitomises the noble values of sacrifice for the sake of mankind leaving aside one's narrow and selfish interests.
The joy of sharing and charity associated with the festivals promotes the feeling of compassion and love to serve the poor and the needy.
Ibobi wished, "May this festival inspire us to sacrifice our selfish interests in the larger interest of the State and unite us al in a spirit of common brotherhood for a more peaceful and prosperous Manipur" .
Deputy Chief Minister and President of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Gaikhangam, Minister of Agriculture & Fisheries Md Abdul Nasir, Secretary of Manipur State Council CPI Dr M Nara Singh, President of Janata Dal (United) Manipur State M Tombi Singh and Chairman of United Muslims Council Manipur Md Abir Khan have also conveyed their Eid greetings to all the people.
