Imphal, September 15 2018: Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee felicitated its general secretary ex-MLA Victor Keishing on his appointment as secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) for Meghalaya during a function at Congress Bhavan today.

Speaking at the event, former Deputy Chief Minister and member of CWC Gaikhangam said that the appointment of Victor as secretary of AICC has shown that the Congress in the Centre knows Manipur well and has keen interest in the affairs of the State and North-East as a whole.

The appointment is an encouragement to the party in the State and the North-East, he said and appreciated AICC president Rahul Gandhi, said a statement issued by M Oleh, chairman media department, MPCC today.

Former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi, vice president MPCC MLA N Loken, MLA AK Mirabai, MLA Govindas Konthoujam, MLA K Meghachandra Singh, MLA K Imo Singh, MLA O Surjakumar Singh and others attended the felicitation ceremony.

Victor Keishing is among nine selected as AICC secretaries.
