Imphal, February 15 2020: MLA of Wangkhei AC, Okram Henry inaugurated a solar street lighting ceremony from Khurai Lamlong Keithel to Minuthong today, under the aegis of Union of Social Upliftment (USU) (an apex body of 25 clubs of Khurai, Wangkhei, Kshetrigao, Lamlai & Khundrakpam ACs) .

USU president Thoudam Rohinikumar attended the function as the president and Khurai Lamlong Keithel woman vendor Radhe as the guest of honour.

As a part of progressing the pace of development in the State, MANIREDA provides 100 solar street lamps to each MLA, said chief guest of the function O Henry.

He continued that the road stretch from Khurai Lamlong to Minuthong has remained dark with the lack of any street lamps while the locals have repeatedly urged the authorities concerned to look into the matter.

This time, as the solar street lamps are being provided to MLAs, the solar street lighting initiative was taken up for the said road stretch.
