Maiba village condemns bomb attack

Senapati, January 15 2022: Sheemai (Maiba) Village Authority Council, its subordinate organisations and all the residents of the village have condemned in the strongest term the cowardly act of hurling two bombs at the residence of LS Thaisho of Maiba Village, situated in Zaikarii Christian Colony, Makhrelui, Senapati, on January 12 night by anti-social element(s) without any rhyme or reason.

It is said that some rooms of the building are rented out to NHIDCL, which uses them as its office while the landlord and other families reside together in the same building.

In a press statement, the village authority andits subordinate organisations stated that such act of heinous crime against humanity is intolerable and the twin bomb threat is a direct attack on all the occupants of the building including innocent children, women and guests.

"Hence, the people of Sheemai (Maiba) in solidarity with the residential members of LS Thaisho issue this decree to the perpetrator(s) to identify himself/themselves and tender an unconditional public apology.

Moreover, this kind of dastardly act of bomb culture and cowardice is an affront to Christian community.

The perpetrator(s) should be ashamed of himself/themselves before the society and especially before God, the statement said.

The statement was jointly issued by the Maiba Village Authority Council, Maiba Youth and Students' Union, Sheemai (Maiba) General Women's Society, Sheemai (Maiba) Union Senapati Karong Area, Sheemai (Maiba) Senapati Karong Women's Society and all natives of Sheemai (Maiba) village.

The village frontal organisations appealed to the law enforcing agencies to expedite the probe and apprehend the culprit(s) and give befitting penalty as per law of land, while adding, "Nothing is "impossible if we come together, sit together and reason together" .
