Cotton plantation launched at Tengnoupal

A public meeting was held at Kwatha community hall following the launching of the first ever cotton planting at Kwatha village under the State Govt maiden project of cotton planting and farming in the State.
Commerce, Textiles and Industries Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh graced the gathering as chief guest while Handlooms and Textiles Director K Lamlee Kamei attended as president and 12 AR Kwatha post Capt Prateek Verma as guest of honour.
Th Biswajit, while speaking on the occasion, stated that the BJP led Government has been taking up welfare initiatives for the unemployed youths of the State.
The land in Kwatha village among other places was found fertile especially for cotton plantation and the maiden project was launched to improve the economy of the State, he added.
Minister Biswajit also sowed cotton seeds as a part of the function.
The launching programme was organised by District Handlooms and Textiles office, Tengnoupal under the sponsorship of Department of Handlooms and Textiles Manipur.
