Road safety awareness prog conducted

Jiribam, February 13 2020:
Jiribam police has organised a road safety awareness programme cum motor rally at Jiribam, yesterday.
The rally participated by school students and Jiribam locals began from the RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya, Jiribam.
Placards that read 'Drive safely, rules are your tools' and 'Obey traffic rules, save your future' were used by the rallyists.
After passing through the NH-37, the rally ended at Jiribam Higher Secondary School playground, where a meeting was convened.
During the meeting, Sarma Devi and Joyraj Singh spoke about basic traffic rules and the importance of following the rules while driving to avoid accidents as resource persons.
Spot slogan writing competition was also conducted at the end of the programme.
The meeting was graced by Joint Director (Transport) cum State Nodal Officer for Road Safety, BK Sharma as chief guest; Jiribam Superintendent of Police, M Mubi Singh as functional president and Superintendent of Police (Traffic), Khoisnam Sarma Devi; Additional SP (Traffic), Yumnam Joyraj Singh; Vice-Chairman, Manipur Food Industries Corporation Ltd, K Sarat Kumar Singh; ex-Minister, A Biren Singh; EO, Jiribam Municipal Council, Moirangthem Surjit Singh; Pradhans, Dibong GP; RK Nobinsana Singh; Hilghat GP, L Somorendro Singh and Vice-Principal of Jiribam Higher Secondary School, RK Gambhirjit Singh as guests of honour.
