Relief items distributed to Covid-19 affected people

Imphal, June 12 2021: Individuals and organisations continued to extend assistance to people affected by Covid-19 as well as to Covid Task Force and CHIC.

On Saturday, BJP Manipur Pradesh State Council member and Covid 2nd Wave Fighting Task Force BJP Lamlai Mandal chairman Khongbantabam Ibomcha distributed edibles to households under containment zones at Yourabung, Sawombung and Nungoi Makha Leikai along with providing monetary aid to Covid task force of Yourabung and Sawombung under Lamlai assembly constituency.

RK Fortune Developer Pvt Ltd managing director RK Rameshwar distributed edible items at Thounaojam Leikai, Konthoujam Leikai, Heinoupok and Ningthemkol under Patsoi AC while Panthoibi Foundation Team, a sister company of Panthoibi Housing Finance Company Limited, visited media houses located in Imphal and handed over face masks and hand sanitizer for distribution among the journalists on Saturday.

Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) Manipur Prant and M/s Eastern Motors Chingmeirong provided monetary aid of Rs 5000 each to 15 families affected by lockdown imposed for containing the pandemic along with Rs 10,000 to Konthoujam Prabhapati, wife of late K Nilbir Singh, who died of Covid-19 .

The aid was handed over to the beneficiaries by Eastern Motors proprietor Sinam Pritam and his wife BVP member Joybee Heikrujam on Saturday.

Covid-19 cell of Khangabok Development and Students' Union (KDASU) also distributed edibles and medicines to households affected by Covid-19 at Khangabok under its 4th phase of distribution.

The team during its programme came across families whose residences were on the verge of collapse.

The families told the team that they tried to get housing loans but nothing has come out of it.

As such, KDASU appealed to authority concerned and chief minister N Biren to look into their case.

On the other hand, Wangkhem MLA Keisham Meghachandra provided PPE, sanitizers, masks, hand gloves to 21 Covid Task Force under Wangkhem AC, while BJP Manipur Pradesh executive member and intending candidate from Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC S Kebi Devi distributed edibles, drinking water, sanitizers, face masks and Rs 20,000 cash to Kamakhya Pemton College CHIC, Hiyangthang.

VDF Welfare Association Imphal East district, social worker and former post master Langpoklakpam Giridhon Singh and Uyok Chingya Club (UCC) Kakching Turel Wang- ma also distributed edibles to families of Covid-19 positive VDF members, households of Tekcham Gram Panchayat and to families under containment zone at Kakching Turel Wang- ma respectively.

Similarly, former candidate from Wabagai AC, Mayengbam Ranjit Singh distributed essential items to 250 households under containment zones as well as hand sanitizer, face masks and sodium hypochlorite to local club at Wabagai Awang Leikai on Saturday.
