National symposium on Nematodes kicks off

Imphal, December 11 2019:
Nematological Society of India, New Delhi in association with Manipur University and Indian Council of Agricultural Research New Delhi organised a National symposium at Earth Science Department, MU today.
The three days long symposium was organised under the theme, "Nematodes: A threat to food security and farmers' livelihood" .
Manipur University Vice Chancellor Jarnail Singh graced the function as the chief guest while Nematological Society of India vice president Dr Pankaj and Dean, School of Life Sciences, Manipur University Shantibala, NSI general secretary Dr Anil Sirohi, Local Organising Secretary Professor RK Gambhir and Professor N Mohilal Meitei also attended the function.
The Nematology Symposium is organised every year, said Local Organising Secretary N Mohilal Meitei while adding that this year, the symposium is happening in Imphal which is fortunate.
He further stated that more than 50 delegates from outside the State, including 20 from Manipur, are taking part in the symposium.
