Kangpokpi, August 10 2015:
Seeking immediate clarification from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as to why the Government of India has denied the continuous demand of Kuki Inpi to settle the criminal acts of NSCN(IM) first b before signing any agreement with the militant outfit, Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) on Monday submitted a lengthy open memorandum to the Prime Minister on the matter.
Signed by its president Thangkhosei Haokip, the memorandum said that the demand by Kuki Inpi to first settle the criminal acts of NSCN (IM) in the killing of 905 innocent loyal Kuki people, uprooting 360 Indian Kuki villages and seizing their land, rendering more than 100,000 loyal Kukis as refugees in their own land without rehabilitation, before any kind of agreement or solution, has been ignored by the Government of India.
It added that the concealed details signed between the Government of India and NSCN (IM) on August 3 in New Delhi has shocked the 'Kuki nation' .
While making its perspective clear the president said that the standpoint of Kuki Inpi (Kuki Traditional Government) which has been repeatedly made known is to bring justice and usher in peace and tranquility in the country, particularly in north Eastern States through non violent means.
"Kuki people have never advocated violence, whether towards the Government or any other neighbouring communities except in defending themselves against armed organizations purportedly fighting for independence", added the president.
It is rather perplexing that an entreaty towards justice of the traditional Kuki Government is thwarted continuously by the top brass of Indian Government, said the Haokip while adding that rejecting Kuki Inpi's request is tantamount to denying the law courts in the country.
