Kakching rally decries Kuki aerial bombing

Large number of people including students carried out a mega rally in Kakching on Monday denouncing the drone bombings and rocket attacks by Kuki militants against the Meetei people.
The rally was jointly organised by 13 organisations including All Kakching Clubs' Co-ordinating Committee, Kakching Bazar Business Welfare Association, Joint Non-Government Voluntary Organisation, Volunteers' Co-ordinating Committee, Langsai Thouna, Kakching Apunba Nupi Lup, Kakching Keithel Apunba Ima Lup, Whizz Kids Society, Arambai Tenggol Unit 26, Kakching Lamkhai Bazar Welfare Board, Salai Kakching, and All Kha Kanglei Students' Union.
The rally was flagged off from Kakching Sumak Leikai playground and culminated at Kakching Wairi Khumjam-pat ground after traversing through Kakching Bazar, Chumnang Leikai, Wairi and other parts of Kakching district.
Participants were seen holding placards and shouting slogans 'We oppose drone bombing and missile attack by Kukis', 'Stop Kukis from carrying out drone bombing', 'Terminate SoO agreement with Kuki militants immediately', 'Remove Kuki bunkers', 'Declare Kuki militants as terrorists', 'Disqualify Kuki MLAs', 'Do not arrest Meetei village volunteers', 'Remove non-functioning Central forces from Manipur' 'We oppose Government of India's policy', 'Reinstate CM as chairman of Unified Command', 'Wake up Manipur Government', 'Manipur Government should act independently', 'No compromise to Manipur's territorial integrity', and 'Long Live Manipur, Ima Leibakna Yai-phare' among others.
According to the organisers, the rally was organised to register protest against drone bombings and rocket attacks by Kuki militants and alleged inaction by Central and state government despite the loss of lives and properties as well as displacement of tens of thousands of people.
Such silence of the government only endangers the lives and future of Meetei community, they said while pointing out that there is no reason not to call the deadly attacks by Kuki militants on the Meeteis without any significant intervention from the government as a state sponsored terrorism aimed at exterminating Meetei community.
