Imphal, April 09 2022:
Strongly condemning the act of some people who provide answer scripts to students for copying during the class XII exam, Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has made it clear that such activities would severely imperil the future of students.
In a release, DESAM education & academic affairs secretary Thounaojam Somal Luwang contended that on the second day of Higher Secondary Examination being conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM), four teams of the students' body inspected exam centres at Little English Higher Secondary School, Thoubal Haokha; N Tomchou Higher Secondary School, Mayang Imphal; Kakching Higher Secondary School, Kakching and Kamakhya Pemton College, Hiyangthang on Saturday.
The team tasked to oversee conduct of the exam at Little English Higher Secondary School found a student using unfair means and the student in question was expelled by the invigilators.
Other teams witnessed examination being conducted peacefully at N Tomchou Higher Secondary School, and Kakching Higher Secondary School.
But the team visiting Kamakhya Pemton College, Hiyangthang encountered rampant cheating with some people arriving in vehicles and handing out answer scripts to students who came out to toilets.
On complaining to the invigilators, the cheat sheets were recovered from students and found to be answer scripts of the question asked for the exam, it mentioned.
Taking serious note of the matter, DESAM appealed to the exam officials especially invigilators to sincerely perform their duty.
People who provide cheating materials to students need to ponder that their action is destroying the future of the state, it added.
