State ready to welcome President

Imphal, April 08 2013:
A meeting of all top officials of the various Government Departments was held at the conference hall of State Secretariat here today to discuss the forthcoming visit President of India Pranab Mukherjee to Imphal on April 15 .
Presided over by Chief Secretary DS Poonia, the meeting minutely discussed the preparations to be made for the maiden visit of President Pranab Mukherjee.
The meeting mainly focused on the need for coordination among the government departments while taking up steps to make the visit of the President of India a grand success and discussed matters concerning the security arrangements to be made as well as keeping ready all the programmes to be attended by the President during his stay at Imphal.
Among others, the meeting was attended by DGP Y Joykumar, Additional DGP and other top officials of various government departments.
Meanwhile, another meeting of the Strategic Operation Group (SOG) was held at the office chamber of the Chief Secretary around 3 pm today.
Attended by DGP, officials of Assam Rifles, BSF, CRPF and Army, the meeting discussed minutely the prevailing law and order situation in the State and the need to have full coordination among the state forces, Army and para-military forces.
The meeting also decided to take up all necessary security measures for the visit of the President of India on April 15 next.
