Awungshi laid to rest at Choithar

The mortal remains of Reingamphy Awungshi was on Friday finally laid to rest at her native Choithar village in UKhrul after an emotional public condolence service attended by a host of Tangkhul social organisations.
On Friday afternoon, 21-year old Reingamphy Awungshi, who was found dead under suspicious condition inside her rented room at Delhi on May 29, was given tearful adieu by family members, friends and villagers.
She was the daughter of Chihanpam and Tharawon of Choithar village.
A host of Tangkhul organisations comprising Tangkhul Naga Long, Tangkhul Shanao Long, Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong and Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long also attended the final rite and condoled the demise of the young girl.
They vowed to support the ongoing fight for truth to come out and established the exact circumstance leading to her ""daughter from Manipur has fallen as a victim".

On Thursday, the dead body Reingamphy was brought to Imphal from Delhi and Tangkhul Katamnao Long, Imphal held a public condolence.
Members from the girl family have expressed gratitude to various supports extended by different organisations and individuals.
In her death, the family members said the northeasterners have come together once again to fight for common cause.
Under persistent demand from North-East bodies based in the capital, the Delhi government finally ordered for visceral histopathological and chemical analysis test to find out the precise antecedents causing her death.
The manner in which the girl body was found in her room, the north-east organisations are still harping on murder angle.
Yesterday, the Tangkhul Katamnao Long Delhi led a Candle Light Vigil at Jantar Mantar to press for justice.
