Imphal, April 07 2019: The total shut down imposed by CorCom and other outfits against the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, affected normal life in the State capital today.

In view of the total shutdown, police took up stringent security measures at Imphal and greater Imphal areas.

A large number of police personnel and para military forces were deployed along Tiddim road up to Hatta Kangjeibung and its surrounding areas.

Security measures were also taken up along other important roads leading towards the State capital and other important junctions.

The Ima Keithels, temporary market sheds remained closed during the total shut down as well as all the shops, cinema halls and other business establishments located in Paona Keithel and Thangal Keithel.

During the total shutdown, all inter-State transport and inter district transport vehicles remained off the road except some private vehicles.

Petrol pumps located in different parts of the State also remained closed during the total shut down.
