Home Guards celebrate 62nd raising day

The Manipur Home Guards (Valley Area) celebrated its 62nd raising day at the Manipur Home Guard headquarters, here, on Friday.
The celebration was attended by officials and personnel from various battalions, as well as the Manipur Home Guards' Welfare Association.
Manipur Home Guard (Valley Area) commandant Soibam Shashidananda extended his best wishes to all home guard personnel across the state.
In his address, he emphasised the vital role of home guards in maintaining law and order and assisting in rescue operations during natural disasters.
He cited the recent floods as an example of the dedication of home guard personnel who rushed to help affected communities.
Shashidananda also ac knowledged the challenges faced by the home guard personnel, particularly lack of infrastructure and facilities, and assured to address all genuine issues.
He mentioned that during his visits to all the home guard battalions, he had observed the conditions and expressed commitment to improving them.
Additionally, he felicitated battalions that had been performing their duties diligently.
The event was also attended by deputy commandant Th Bidyapati, assistant commandant A Nando, and president of Manipur Home Guards' Welfare Association Y Mangi.
Commanders from all five home guard battalions were present as well.
The home guard personnel also presented cultural programmes as part of the celebration, and several exceptional individuals were felicitated for their outstanding service.
