Relief victims express gratitude for charity

Chandel, August 06 2015:
The Chakpi River Flood Affected Relief Committee Chamdil has distributed relief items of rice, salt, potatoes and mustard oil to flood affected victims of Chandel district and to Chandel Vomku road community work volunteers on Wednesday.
Co- convener HL Lovingson issuing a release after distribution thanked Manipur Police Service for donating 20 bags of rice, 60 blankets, 4 water reservoir and cash of Rs 2000 through SP Chandel N Herojit IPS.
The committee also expressed gratitude Forest Department Chandel for supporting 6 bags of rice, 1 bag of salt, 1 cartoon box of mustard oil and 1 bag of potato donates for flood victims.
It also appreciated and thanked special contractor D Kowar Lamkang for donating a sum of Rs 20,000 for the victims.
Meanwhile, MDC of 11-Pantha Sh Manglem Monsang and All Tribal Chief & People Grievances Forum (ATC&PGF), Chandel district visited in the relief camps at Sugnu.
They interacted with the flood victims in the presence of Gunpi Area Chiefs' Association.
In another separated statement, the residents of Rungchang villages thanked AI of ADC School Moshilpha for visiting the affected villagers with relief items including rice and medicines.
The Rungchang villagers also express gratitude to MLA of 41-Chandel St Nunghlung Victor for donating Rs 1 lakh for flood victims of Chakpikarong area and donating his JCB for clearing waste and other remnants of the flood to Rungchang village.
The villagers appealed the government to dismantle the old unused RCC bridge on Chakpikarong to Sajik Tampak road at Rungchang village adding that the pillars of the bridge had block the passage of water which causing inundation of the village by the overflowing water, the statement added.
