Imphal, May 06 2015 : 53rd Foundation Day of Shri ShriBalmukunda Dev (SSBD) Music College was celebrated at the Auditorium of the college on Wednesday.

L Kishorjit, Deputy Director, Department of Arts and Culture, Government of Manipur; L Devandrajit Sharma, Vice Principal, SSBD Music College and Moirangthem Kumar, Retd Assistant Professor, SSBD) Music College graced the occasion as Chief Guest, President and Guest of Honour.

Foundation day celebration began with offering of floral tributes to the departed members of the college.

L Kishorjit Singh acknowledged the contribution of the Music College in the development of Music in the State in his address and added Cabinet has taken a decision to institute Cultural University.

Once the university came into being there will be a change in the field of Arts and Culture in Manipur observed Kishorjit and urged that to be a musician should not be a pastime exercise rather it should be taken as profession.
